HUTCHINSON - Zola Farris Fischer, 88, died Jan. 24 at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson. Born Nov. 17, 1922, in rural Stafford County, she was the daughter of Abraham and Kadisa Farris. On May 26, 1941, she married Sam Salem. She then married Merlin Fischer on June 10, 1967. She worked as a secretary at Hudson school, and at First National Bank of Hutchinson and Frontier Hybrids.
LARNED - M. Earl McBride, 95, died Jan. 22 at the Pawnee Valley Community Hospital in Larned. Born Sept. 2, 1915, at Kinsley, he was the son of Edgar and Elsie Miller McBride. On April 30, 1937, he married Fern Myers in Fellsburg. He was a farmer.
VICTORIA - Landry Michael Robben, infant son of Jason and Nicole (Watts) Robben, died Jan. 21 at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Mo. He was born Jan. 5, 2011, in Kansas City, Mo.
Robert Zane "Pete" Wilson, 78, died Jan. 23 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born Feb. 21, 1932, at Glade, the son of Edward and Zela (Elliott) Wilson. He married Imogene Barnes on Jan. 2, 1953. They were later divorced. He was a carpenter for Albert Lumber Yard and later worked as a self-employed carpenter. He had been a Great Bend resident since 1998, coming from Ellinwood and Albert.
HOISINGTON - Joseph J. Rziha, 94, died Jan. 23 at Clara Barton Hospital in Hoisington. Arrangements will be announced by Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Hoisington.
ROCK VALLEY, Iowa - Florine Elizabeth (Nuss) Arend, 78, died Jan. 17 at Hegg Memorial Hospital. She was born April 27, 1932 in Galatia. Services were held last Thursday in Rock Valley.

HOISINGTON - Ronald Dean Beary, 61, died Jan. 21 at his home in Hoisington. He was born NOv. 19, 1949 at Kansas City, Mo. the son of Jack and Majorie (Young) Beary.
GREAT BEND - Lou Ann Ritterhouse, 77, died Jan. 22 at Central Kansas Medical Center. She was born Aug. 13, 1933 at Langley the daughter of John Amos and Irma Blanche (Kindt) Mitchell.
HORSESHOE BAY, Texas - Ruby Marie Mitchell, 85, passed away on Jan 21. She was born April 19, 1925 at Wilson, the daughter of Ruben and Lydia Nuss. She married George E. Mitchell in 1944. They celebrated 67 years of marriage and had four sons.
PAWNEE ROCK - Connie Virginia Keller, 76, died Jan. 18 at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson.
Gerald J. "Jerry" Christiansen, 84, died Jan. 18 at Cherry Village Nursing Home in Great Bend. He was born June 13, 1926, at Barton County, the son of Ralph and Elsie (Ewing) Christiansen. He married Alice Nadine Amerine on July 14, 1946, at Great Bend. She died Dec. 12, 2010. He was a mechanic for Manweiler Chevrolet and later opened Jerry's Repair. He was a lifetime Great Bend resident.
LIBERAL - Georgia (Tyne) Valerius, 86, died Jan. 19 at her residence in Liberal. She was born July 30, 1924, in Jonesboro, Ark., the daughter of George and Ella (Gray) Munger. She married Arthur Gray (Bud) Valerius on Feb. 14, 1948, in Hoisington. He passed away July 31, 1979.
NEWTON - Marjorie I. Gunn Price, 91, of Newton, died Jan. 17 at Presbyterian Manor in Newton. She was born April 14, 1919, in Great Bend, the daughter of Lee and Lydia (Appel) Wells. She graduated from Great Bend High School in 1938. On. Nov. 5, 1939, she married Richard "Dick" H. Gunn in Hutchinson. They moved to Newton in the early '60s, and he passed away in 1975.
HUTCHINSON - Elden M. Dutschmann, 85, died Jan. 17 at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson. He was born May 20, 1925, the son of Paul C. and Dora Ida Schultz Dutschmann. A World War II veteran, he was a staff sergeant with the U.S. Air Force, where he received a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star.
OBERLIN - DeeAnna E. Krizek, 77, died Aug. 9 at Decatur Health Systems in Oberlin. Born April 7, 1937, in Oberlin, she was the daughter of Gordon and Esther (Leitner) Rathbun. In 1955 she graduated from Decatur Community High School. On Aug. 4, 1957, she married Bennie Krizek in Oberlin. Living on the Krizek family farm north of Jennings, she was a homemaker.

LACROSSE - Eugene Dale Sell died on July 2. Born on Aug. 10, 1929, in La Crosse, he was the son of Jacob and Mayme (Rickter) Sell. Gene attended school in La Crosse, graduating in 1947. In high school he excelled in all sports, especially in basketball and football. Upon graduation, Gene accepted a scholarship to Garden State College in Garden City. Upon leaving college, he took a job with Gross Drilling Co. of Eldorado, and in 1951, was sent to Pawhuska, Okla. for "six months work and never left." Karen Kay Weber, 57, died Aug. 5 at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. Born Nov. 10, 1956, in Great Bend, she was the daughter of Nicholas Mathias and Viola Dorothy (Lang) Weber. A lifetime resident of Great Bend, she was a client of Sunflower Diversified Services for 37 years.
RUSSELL - Marlene Edna (Karst) Becker–Steinle, 88, died Aug. 3, at Russell Regional Hospital. Born Jan. 5, 1926, in Galatia, she was the daughter of Oscar and Amelia (Dumler) Karst. She grew up on the family farm north of Galatia and attended grade school at Sunflower Rural School. She then attended Great Bend High School and Russell High School, graduating from Russell in 1944.
