Shirley Ann Hoelscher, 71, died July 11, 2016, at Kansas Heart Hospital in Wichita. Born Oct. 9, 1944, in Pauls Valley, Okla., she was the daughter of Clarence and Daisy Mae (Richardson) Shann. On May 31, 1970, she married Eugene Hoelscher at Salem United Methodist Church in Bushton. A resident of Great Bend since 1999, coming from Bushton, she was a homemaker. She enjoyed sporting events, sewing and cooking.
Everett L. Stricker, 94, passed away on July 11, 2016, at Locust Grove Village in LaCrosse. Born on Feb. 13, 1922, at Ringwood, Okla., he was the son of Joseph L. and Martha C. (Coons) Stricker. Amanda Leigh (Cain) Kramer, 36, died July 10, 2016, at her home in Great Bend. Born March 19, 1980, in Beaver, Okla., she was the daughter of Ronne Lee and Vanessa (Belvin) Cain. On April 22, 2008, she married Lawrence Kramer in Hutchinson. She was employed at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation as a CNA. She loved animals and everyone she met.

LARNED - Wanda C. Eye, 90, passed away July 11, 2016, at Country Living of Larned. Born Sept. 9, 1925, in Junction City, she was the daughter of Thomas and Nora Wolfe McVaugh. A lifetime area resident, she was a homemaker and an avid painter. On March 24, 1946, she married Clair Kenneth Eye in Abilene. He survives.
HOISINGTON - Beatrice Marie "Bea" Schneweis, 84, died July 10, 2016, at Clara Barton Hospital in Hoisington. Born arch 13, 1932, in Olmitz, she was the daughter of Arthur F. and Mary (Busch) Maneth. On May 28, 1952, she married Leo Emil Schneweis in Olmitz. He died on March 28, 2006. A lifetime Barton County resident, living in Hoisington since 1952, she was employed at Homestead Villa in Hoisington as an aide and housekeeper for over 20 years.
Glennis Arlene Doll, 99, died July 10, 2016, at Woodhaven Care Center in Ellinwood. Born Dec. 28, 1916, in Whiteside County, Ill. she was the daughter of Fred and Johanna (Onchen) Beuttel. On Dec. 28, 1935, she married Glen Hartshorn. He died on June 7, 1936. She then married Marvin Doll on Dec. 29, 1945, in Great Bend. He died on July 8, 1981. A Great Bend resident for more than 70 years, she was a cosmetologist.
Dane Patrick Schartz, 30, Great Bend, died July 10, 2016, after a valiant nearly four-year battle against colon cancer. He was born June 11, 1986, the son of Shannon and Jennifer (Potter) Schartz in Great Bend. He was a 2005 graduate of Great Bend High School.

TIMKEN - Mary Elizabeth (Boone) Schwindt, 76, died Thursday, July 7, 2016, at the Locust Grove Village in LaCrosse after a long battle with liver disease. She was born Jan. 10, 1940, in Wilburton, Okla. to Wayne G. and Marie (Harris) Boone, the first of two daughters. A 1957 graduate of Wilburton High School, Mary graduated from Eastern A&M Junior College in Wilburton, from Southeastern State College in Durant, Okla., and from Fort Hays State University.
SOUTH SALEM, N.Y. - Anne Leigh Rudeen, author of five published novels and a force of nature who left an indelible impression on everyone who knew her, passed away peacefully at her home in South Salem, N.Y., on Sunday, July 3, 2016. She was 85, although her outlook was far more youthful. Her passions included attending rock concerts, taking Zumba classes, creating art projects, and generally making everywhere she lived and every life she touched all the better for her presence.
