RUSSELL - Martha Eichman, 91, of Russell, died Nov. 7 at the Wheatland Nursing Center in Russell. She was born on July 6, 1919, in rural Hoisington, the daughter of Peter Schneider, Sr. and Lydia (Bender) Schneider. She grew up in the Hoisington area and attended country schools. NEWTON - William "Bill" Alexander, 59, died Nov. 7 at Harry Hynes Hospice in Wichita. He was born May 24, 1951, in Denver, Colo. He graduated from Mound City High School and went on to complete two years at Fort Scott Junior college. He served three years with the United States Navy. Following that, he wisely used the G.I. Bill to further his education and attended Wichita State University and achieved his bachelor's degree, followed by his Physician's Assistant Degree. On Aug. 14, 2006, he married Tamera J. ELLINWOOD - Dolores Keenan Bryant, 82, died Nov. 5 at Overland Park. She w as born Sept. 5, 1928, at Great Bend, the third child and second daughter of a family of eight children born to Thomas and Martha Sheils Keenan. She married Lloyd W. Bryant on Nov. 24, 1949, at Seward. He died July 12, 2006. She was a longtime Ellinwood resident and owner of Bryant TV & Radio in Ellinwood for 40 years. She later owned and operated Riverside Petroleum for the next 20 years. She graduated from Meade High School.

HUMBOLDT - Marcell B. (Bernard) Tinkler, 88, of Humboldt, passed away Nov. 3, at the Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center in Chanute. Bernard was born at Gypsum on Dec. 12, 1921, the son of Irl N. and Maudie M. (Mounkes) Tinkler. He served as an airborn radio operator/navigator during World War II from 1942 through 1945. He was united in marriage to Anna Mae Nickey on Dec. 27, 1942. She survives, of the home.
James L. "Jim" Morton, 64, died Nov. 3 at his home in Great Bend. Born May 4, 1946, in Great Bend, he was the son of Loyd and Violet (Smith) Morton. On Aug. 28, 1970, he married Karen Collier in Great Bend. A resident of Great Bend since 1973, coming from Seward, he was a district manager for Halliburton for 25 years and production superintendent for Hartman Oil Company until his retirement in 2009.
HOISINGTON - Wilma Imojean Fritz, 82, died Nov. 3 at her home in Hoisington. Born Feb. 12, 1928, she was the daughter of Harrison and Mollie (Proksch) Clift). On Aug. 28, 1947, she married Kenneth L. LOVELAND, Colo. - Alvin R. Moeller was born Jan. 27, 1927, on a farm near Preston and passed from this life on Nov. 2 at his home in Loveland, Colo. He was 83 years old. Alvin served in the U.S. Army immediately after high school from 1944-1946 and was discharged at the end of World War II. Nadine Dreiling, 81, died Oct. 10, at Hays Medical Center. Born June 25, 1933, in Neck City, Mo., she was the daughter of George and Vera (Sargent) Moore. On Oct. 2, 1954, she married Donald A. Dreiling in Chase. He died on Nov. 11, 2010. A resident of Great Bend since 1954, coming from Chase, she and her husband owned and operated Don's Food Mart and she retired from Dillon's Pharmacy. She loved her grandchildren and watching sports, especially the University of Kansas Jayhawks and New York Yankees.

Paul E. Dyer, 84, died Oct. 8 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born Feb. 20, 1930, in Great Bend, he was the son of Homer and Katherine (Jones) Dyer. On Jan. 4, 1954, he married Julitta M. Elsen, in Great Bend. She died on March 12, 1995. He was a lifetime resident of Great Bend.
John D. Trimmer, 65, of Great Bend and formerly of Pawnee Rock and Dundee, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 8, at Great Bend Health & Rehabilitation Center in Great Bend. He was born on Feb. 11, 1949, at Belleville, to George Franklin and Edna Alene (Larr) Trimmer. He graduated from Republic County Schools in 1965 and was united in marriage to Diana Levingston on June 10, 1976, at Pawnee Rock. She died on July 22, 2013. John worked as a chain hand in the oilfield prior to his retirement. He enjoyed rock collecting, watching wrestling and spending time with family.
