Delores V. Waggoner, 79, of Great Bend, died Nov. 27 at Central Kansas Medical Center, Great Bend. She was born Dec. 12, 1930, at Great Bend, the daughter of Edward and Eva Mae (Cole) Raab. A homemaker, Mrs. Waggoner was a lifelong resident of Great Bend.
HOISINGTON - Linda S. (Monroe) Schlegel, 57, died Nov. 28 at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson. She was born May 31, 1953, at Hoisington, the daughter of Glen Robert and Rosemary (Chambers) Monroe. She married Denton Schlegel on Oct. 27, 1972, at Hoisington. She was the owner of Schlegel Realty and a lifetime Hoisington resident.
LARNED - Adelaida Viegra Perez (Lile) (Abby), Larned, died Nov. 26 after a long and courageous battle with illness. Born in Garfield on Dec. 16, 1940, to Pasqual and Basilia Vieyra, Abby was a 1958 graduate of Garfield High School and lived all of her adult life in Larned.

She married Donald Henry Matthews on Jan. 22, 1957, at Great Bend. She was a homemaker and a former maid for the Holiday Inn. DODGE CITY - Margaret F. Lightcap, 88, died Nov. 22 at Central Kansas Medical Center at Great Bend. She was born on Dec. 13, 1921, at Lamar, Colo., the daughter of Lloyd and Lena (Krueger) Keenportz. She grew up in Hodgeman County and moved to Dodge City in 1940. On Sept. 21, 1940, she married Leroy Lightcap at Rozel. He preceded her in death on Aug. 9, 2004. Margaret was a homemaker and she and her husband lived in Dodge City until moving to Great Bend in 2000.

MINNEAPOLIS, Kan. -Leona P. Berry, 94, of Minneapolis, died Nov. 22 at the Salina Regional Health Center. Leona was born May 9, 1916, near Beaver, to William and Grace (Chenoweth) Berry. She graduated from Hoisington High School, Hoisington, at the age of 16. Leona was too young to teach so she stayed home for one year. MISSION, Texas - Beverly Louise Colegrove Boyer died at the age of 82 due to natural causes at Mission, Texas, on Nov. 18. Beverly was born Aug. 1, 1926, the daughter of Helen Louise Miller Colegrove and Arthur Colegrove. She was the granddaughter of Herman C. and Mary Colegrove and Lester C. and Christine Miller, all of whom were residents of Great Bend before their deaths. On March 7, 1946, Beverly was wed to Harold Wayne Boyer. They were married for 54 years before "Wayne" passed away in January of 2000.

Pauline Wagner, 90, died Nov. 9, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. Born Dec. 27, 1923, in Ellis, she was the daughter of Joe and Agatha (Gaschler) Weber. She married Gilbert Aloysius Orth Sr. He later died. On Sept. 13, 1968, she married Daylon John Wagner in Cheyenne Wells, Colo. He died on March 26, 1994. A Great Bend resident since 1969, coming from Hays, she was a beautician.
Irvin E. Burton, 87, passed away on Sunday morning, Nov. 9, at his home in Great Bend. Born on July 29, 1927, in rural Hoisington, he was the son of Walter and Myrtle (Bradshaw) Burton. On Sept. 24, 1988 he was united in marriage to Betty Jo Byerly in Great Bend. Irvin was a route salesman for Dr. Pepper, Schlitz Beer, and Guy's Potato Chips for many years until his retirement, and worked several part-time jobs after he retired. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, antique John Deere tractors, and he dearly loved his dog, Molly.
