DOUGLASS - Billy Gene Lahar, 69, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Dec. 18, 2016. Bill was born on Aug. 25, 1947, in Eureka. He was the first born son of Bill E. and Jean E. May Lahar. He attended public schools in Waldo and Luray. He graduated from Wichita State University with a degree in Geology. ELLINWOOD - James "Jim" W. Collins, 85, passed away at Hays Medical Center on Dec. 20, 2016. Born on May 6, 1931, in Watchorn, Okla., he was the son of Luther and Gertrude (Muselak) Collins. He was a longtime Ellinwood area resident graduating from Ellinwood High School in 1949. He worked as an Independent oil and gas producer and was owner/operator of James W. Collins Oil Operations.
ELLSWORTH - Carolyn A. Evans, 76, passed away Dec. 21, 2016. She was born Feb. 2, 1940, in Reno County, to Vera (Glover) and Harry Edwards. She married Ernest Evans Jr. on Oct. 1, 1956, in Haven. She was a homemaker.
ALBERT - Glenn Edward Moore, 94, passed peacefully in his sleep about 8:30 a.m. on Sunday morning, Dec. 18, 2016, in Great Bend. Born March 7, 1922, at Otis, he was the son of John Henry and Katie (Diehl) Moore. On Nov. 12, 1980, he married Margaret Elaine Devine Moore at Great Bend. She died Dec. 25, 2011. A lifetime Rush Country resident, Mr. Moore was a farmer and cattleman, enjoying his cattle (most of the time). He was an avid hunter, enjoyed his cars, playing pitch and especially loved spending time with family, friends and loved ones.
Robert Eugene Haberman, 70, died Dec. 18, 2016, at Great Bend Regional Hospital. Born July 23, 1946, at Great Bend, he was the son of Joseph L. and Mary T. (Koester) Haberman. He was a long time Great Bend resident. He was a client of Sunflower Diversified Services.
PAWNEE ROCK – Mary Katherine Hinkle, 67, died Dec. 17, 2016 at the Pawnee Valley Community Hospital, Larned. Born Oct. 23, 1949 in Rogers, Ark., she was the daughter of Burl and Cleva (Dean) Schell. Mary worked in the laundry service and she was a volunteer for Community Support Service Program in Dodge City.
BURDETT- Wanda M. Kollhoff, 90, died Dec. 15, 2016, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. Born Feb. 18, 1926, at Burdett, she was the daughter of W.T. and Leora Moore Crockett. An area resident, she was a homemaker and a nurses aid.
