PAONIA, Colo. - Sonja Karen Swanson-O'Connor, 71, passed away May 31, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Grand Junction, Colo. Born Feb. 3, 1942 in Paonia, Colo., she was the daughter of Henry R. and Martha Ellen (Hallar). She married Maurice Guy O'Connor. They moved to Montana where they made their home in the Lolo Creek Valley for the next 25 years where she raised her family, later divorcing in 1985.

Charlcie May Ogle, 103, died May 26 at Great Bend Regional Hospital. Born April 11, 1910 in Harris Township in Fullton County, Ill., she was the daughter of Thomas E. and Nellie E. (Simpson) Paul. On April 6, 1929. she married Edwin Charles Ogle in Watseka, Ill. He died on Nov. 8, 1969. A Great Bend resident since 1988, she was a clergywoman and pastored in Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Washington, Indiana and Texas. She was also Dean of Women at Gulf Coast Bible College, Houston, Texas.

ELLSWORTH - Jacqueline J. Toman, 74, died May 25 at the Kaye Pogue Hospice Center in Salina. Born on April 15, 1939, in Ellsworth, she was the daughter of Owney (Blackie) and Vera (Choitz) Hoopes. Jackie was a lifetime resident of Ellsworth. On July 20, 1958, she married William R. Toman, in Ellsworth. He died July 8, 1991. Along with her husband she co-owned Toman Sales and Service and B & J Oil. She retired after 20 years with Centel Electric.

Born in Chicago, Ill., on Nov. 4, 1935, she was the daughter of Andrew B. and Dorothy Mershon Huber. Her family moved to Mt. Carroll, Ill., in 1942. An accomplished pianist, guitar player and percussionist for Mt. Carroll High School, music was an important part of her life. Her quick wit and love of ironic humor lasted throughout her lifetime.
