WICHITA - Dale Lehning, 77, passed away June 24, 2016. He grew up and went to school in Hoisington. He joined the Navy after graduating high school and served from 1956 to 1959 before attending Wichita State University for three years. He returned to his hometown to run his father's Buick dealership for a time before coming back to Wichita and working for Universal Adjustment Company. RUSSELL - James H. "Jim" Zordel, 59, died on June 24, 2016, from a motorcycle accident while enjoying an evening ride on Pioneer Road, south of the Smokey Hill River. Born on Dec. 12, 1956, in Russell, he was the son of Edgar L. and Irma (Kohler) Zordel.
HOISINGTON - Ron V. Barlow, 69, died June 26, 2016, at Cherry Village Nursing Center in Great Bend. Born Sept. 11, 1946, in Lawrence, he was the son of Ernest (Dusty) and Helen (Hildebrand) Barlow. On Oct. 16, 1966, he married Laura Michaelis in Hoisington. A resident of Hoisington since 1964, coming from Moundridge, he was a cable splicer for Sprint, Embarq and United Telephone, retiring after 36 years of service.
ELLINWOOD - Jim Riemann, 80, passed away June 5, 2016, at Woodhaven Care Center in Ellinwood. Born Nov. 30, 1935, in Claflin, he was the son of Neal A. Riemann and Lavelle (Mullenix) Riemann. In 1968, he married Rachel Elvera Serbin.
LA MONTE, Mo. - Debra Sue Woods, age 58, of La Monte, Missouri, died on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia, Missouri. She was born on Nov. 2, 1957, in Great Bend, the daughter of Harold and Eva Delores Blehm Schneidewind. On March 3, 1987 in Miami, Oklahoma, she married Gregory D. Woods and he survives, of the home.
Patricia "Pat" Brabander, 64, died June 23, 2016 at Great Bend regional Hospital. She was born Sept. 8, 1951 at Newton, the daughter of Raymond and Darlene (Proffitt) Striat. She married David W. Brabander April 1, 1991 at Great Bend.
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Judy Cook-Bowsky joined her parents Russell and Beulah Bowsky and her brother Jim Bowsky in eternal life at the age of 64. She leaves behind her children Angela and Aaron Cook, her granddaughter Molly Cook, and her three brothers Bill, Roger, and Jack Bowsky. She also leaves behind many close friends and family.
