Born July 9, 1971, in Great Bend, she was the daughter of Allen L. and Margaret (Sanders) Smith. In 1989, she graduated from Ellinwood High School. LARNED - Cecil Merle Rose, 82, passed away July 3 at his home in Larned. Born May 5, 1932, in Haviland, he was the son of William and Elisa Smith Rose. A lifetime area resident, he was a retired foreman for the Pawnee County Road Department.

GREAT BEND -- Patrick Keenan, 79, of Great Bend, died June 28, at Great Bend Regional Hospital. He was born Aug. 14, 1934, in Great Bend, the son of Patrick and Mary Hall Keenan. On April 11, 1956, he married Dortha Willis at St. Rose Church in Great Bend. He attended grade school at St. Francis Xavier in Seward and graduated from Great Bend High school in 1952.
Jerry D. Sieker, 65, passed away in Great Bend on June 30. He was born on Jan. 17, 1949 in Great Bend, to Harry (Jr) and Wanda Sieker. He graduated from Ellinwood High School and attended Fort Hays State University. He was a lifelong resident of Barton County, making a living as a farmer and mechanic. ATWOOD - Noel Arthur Lipton, 71, died June 29, at the Rawlins County Hospital. Born Sept. 9, 1942, in Seattle, Wash., he was the son of Fredrick and Francis (Kelly) Lipton. On Sept. 9, 1972, he married Betty Ruckman in Great Bend. He was a mechanic and proudly served in the United States Army.

Roberta Jo Carr, 59, died Aug. 25 at Great Bend Regional Medical Center. She was born on Sept. 11, 1954, in Fayette County, Ohio. Roberta was a resident of Great Bend since 1987, moving from Washington Courthouse, Ohio. She worked as a night auditor for Days Inn.
Bennie Lou Moos, 69, died Aug. 24, at Hays Medical Center. Born June 18, 1945, in Hoisington, she was the daughter of Leon and Vanonda (Wise) Gray. On April 28, 1962, she married Don J. Leiker in Great Bend. They were later divorced. She then married Lyle L. Workman. He passed away in 2003. She then married Robert W. Moos on May 2, 2013, in Great Bend. He survives. A resident of Great Bend since 1986, coming from WaKeeney where she had resided since 1971, she was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, craft work, floral arranging and music.

ELLINWOOD - Lincoln Paul Tschopp, 78, died Aug. 17, at his home in Ellinwood. Born on Feb. 12, 1936, in Winfield, he was the son of Frederick and Cleoa (Pishney) Tschopp of Udall. He graduated as the first four sport letterman from Udall High School and holds degrees from both BCCC and Friends University in Wichita. After the 1955 Udall tornado destroyed his hometown, Paul enlisted in the United States Army and served in the Special Weapons Command. On April 4, 1975, he married Lillian Milberger in Wichita.
