TOPEKA - Norman William Koester, 68, of Topeka, died July 19, 2015, at St. Francis Hospital. He was born on Sept. 2, 1946, in Hoisington, the son of William and Helen (Langer) Koester. He retired from Washburn University after 25 years as an Electronic Technician. Norm had previously worked for Goodyear and had owned and operated Norm's TV and Organ Repair.
CLAFLIN - Christopher Alan Oeser, 48, loving husband, son, father, and papa, died July 19, 2015, at his home in Claflin. born May 23, 1967, in Overland Park, he was the son of Alan K. and Sheila M. (Heinz) Oeser. Chris graduated from Claflin High School in 1985. He was a lifetime resident of Claflin and a farmer and rancher.
HOLDREGE, Neb. - John "Jack" Stevenson, 84, died July 17, 2015, at the Bryan LGH West Hospital in Lincoln, Neb. surrounded by his loving family. John "Jack" James Stevenson was born on Aug. 31, 1930, in Concordia, to George and Elizabeth (Tieking) Stevenson. He grew up in Concordia and graduated from Republican City High School. On April 13, 1951, Jack was married to Virginia Landreth and they were blessed with three children Mike, Gary and Carla. After 40 years of marriage, Virginia passed in 1991. James W. "Jim" Oliver, 90, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away July 17, 2015, at Brookdale Senior Living in Great Bend. He was born July 29, 1924, at Madison, the youngest of three children to Willis and Amy (Holland) Oliver. He married Madalene Delma Mosier Jan. 14, 1951, at Great Bend. She passed away July 20, 2007. A Great Bend resident since 1949, coming from Madison, he was an electrical engineer for Western Power and Electric and Sunflower Electric. He was a United States Navy veteran.
RUSH CENTER - Dotty Ann Kober, 83, died July 13, 2015, at Rush County Memorial Hospital in La Crosse. Born Sept. 19, 1931, in Rush Center, she was the daughter of Ernest G. and Zelma Mae (Moore) Hallett. In 1953, she married John B. Kober. He preceded her in death on Oct. 5, 1990. She was a lifelong resident of Rush County. A 1949 graduate of La Crosse High School, she was a farmer. She also worked for Locust Grove Village in La Crosse for many years.
ODIN - Anna M. Hitschmann, 95, died July 14, 2015, at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born Dec. 31, 1919, on the farm near Odin, Kansas, the daughter of Peter J. and Louisa (Korkisch) Meyeres.
ELLINWOOD - Edna Claudine Ringwald, 83, died on July 11, 2015, in Great Bend. Born Aug. 15, 1931, at the family home in Great Bend, she was the daughter of Claude and Alice (Lovely) Ewalt. On May 18, 1952, she married Reinder Carl Ringwald in Great Bend. He preceded her in death on June 22, 2015. A lifetime resident of rural Rice County and Ellinwood, she was a housewife and actively participated with her beloved husband in their farming and livestock operation.
ALBERT- Judith J. Hrymecki, 74, passed away at her home in Albert on Sunday evening, July 12, 2015. Born Jan. 9, 1941, at White Heath, Ill., she was the daughter of Robert Dwight and Nannie Elizabeth (Parker) Robinson. On Dec. 14, 1979, she was united in marriage to John J. Hrymecki at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oakley, Mich. The couple made their home in Chapin, Mich., for 15 years and then in Owosso, Mich., for 15 years prior to moving to Albert in 2009. While in Michigan, Judith worked for Universal Electric, Woodards Furniture and Ovid Convalescent Home.
Richard Alton Miller, 43, died July 13, 2015, at his home in Great Bend. Born May 31, 1972, in Long Beach, Calif., he was the son of Donald and Mary Lou Miller. He was supervisor of Campus Security at Barton Community College.
