JETMORE - William A. (Bill) Cohoon, 79, passed away Feb. 21, 2016, at his home in North Roscoe, Hodgeman County, Jetmore. Born May 28, 1936, at Hanston in his grandparent's home, he was the son of Harry and Pauline Dixon Cohoon. On Oct. 27, 1956, he married Alice M. Habiger in Jetmore. She survives. He was a lifetime farmer/stockman in North Roscoe. His passion was farming and his love for his family.

DODGE CITY - Janice A. Riedlinger, 76, died Feb. 19, 2016, at Great Bend. Born on July 6, 1939, at Spearville, she was the daughter of William and Margaret (Schulte) Stegman. She grew up in Offerle and attended St. Joseph Catholic Grade School. In 1957, she graduated from Saint Mary of the Plains High School in Dodge City. Sandra Lee Walters, 66, died Feb. 19, 2016, at Garden Valley Retirement Village, Garden City. She was born June 15, 1949, at Great Bend, the daughter of Gerald and Viola Marie (Brotherson) Larson. She worked for the Center for Counseling and Rosewood Services. She was a lifetime Great Bend resident.
HOLYROOD - Ramon Lee Stoltenberg, 82, passed away Feb. 15, 2016, in Hoisington. Born Feb. 14, 1934, in Ellsworth, he was the son of Leona Ann (Kootz) and Henry Herman Stoltenberg. A lifetime resident of Ellsworth County he was a mechanic and engine analyst technician for Northern Natural and Enron.
LUBBOCK, Texas - Sherry Roxann Rolo, 47, passed away Feb. 12, 2016. Born March 16, 1968, at Pratt County Hospital, she was the daughter of Barry and Eileen Rolo. She graduated from Great Bend High School, Barton County College and Fort Hays State College with a Bachelor's Degree in accounting. She was a very giving person helping with Senior Santa program, South Plains Food Bank, Meals on Wheels program and various other charities. She was an avid reader and enjoyed going to Las Vegas and Ruidoso as a family.
MISSION VIEJO, Calif. - Jerry R. Roberts, 64, died Feb. 11, 2016, at his home in Mission Viejo, Calif. Born Aug. 14, 1951, in Great Bend he was the son of Theron J. Roberts Sr. and Georgia (Grizzle) Roberts. In 1969 he graduated from Great Bend High School. He owned and operated Roberts Exterminating Company for many years in California.
LA CROSSE - James L. "Jim" Lalicker, 76, died Feb. 12, 2016, at his home in La Crosse. Born Jan. 10, 1940, in Gage, Okla., he was the son of Hugh Elwood and Stella Ann (Lamb) Lalicker. In 1958 he graduated from Gage High School in Gage, Okla. On April 8, 1961, he married Barbara Pace in the state of Washington. They divorced. On Dec. 5, 1975, he married Judy Kay (Conway) Hammer in Meade. A resident of La Crosse for 13 years, moving from Hays, he was an auto mechanic, and auto salesman before his retirement.
HOISINGTON - Edna L. Gutowski, 95, died Feb. 14, 2016, at Cherry Village Nursing Home in Great Bend. She was born June 4, 1920, in Hutchinson, the daughter of Walter and Esther (Hamm) Barnes. A longtime resident of Hoisington, Edna was a homemaker and a cook for Maude's Colonial House Restaurant for many years where she was famous for her pies and bread rolls. On April 14, 1937, she married Arthur Joseph Dyer. He died on June 5, 1961. She then married Siegfried O. Gutowski on July 8, 1975, at the Hoisington Bible Church parsonage. He died March 9, 2012.
Ida "Irene" Peak, 86, died Feb. 13, 2016, at Hays Medical Center. Born Feb. 2, 1930, in Neosho County, she was the daughter of Orace W. and Ruth A. (Mathes) Peercy. On Sept. 1, 1947, she married Glenn D. Peak Jr., in Parsons. He died on May 23, 1997. A resident of Great Bend since 1966, coming from Chanute, she was a senior inspector for Fuller Brush, retiring in 1983 to become the primary caregiver to her husband, Glenn. Irene was also instrumental in raising funds to bring the first dialysis center to Great Bend.
HOISINGTON - Fern Ochs Axman, 94, died Feb. 14, 2016, at Great Bend Regional Hospital. Born Oct. 23, 1921, in La Crosse, she was the daughter of Chester Henry and Ollie V. (Butler) Crotinger. She graduated from Bison High School. On Oct. 5, 1941, she married Orland Ochs in Galatia. He died April 23, 1959. She then married Sylvester Axman on July 18, 1970, in Hoisington. He died July 26, 1970.
SALINA - Phillip O. Carlson, 93, passed away Feb. 15, 2016. Born on May 22, 1922, in Gypsum, he was the son of Albert and Edith Carlson. He retired from Rickel Manufacturing in 1984. He also farmed with his dad and brother in the Gypsum area. He enjoyed traveling with his wife Donna for nine years before she passed. At age 78, Phil and Theresa Dykes were married and had 12 wonderful years together.
