STUTTGART, Ark. - Louise Logan died on Aug. 15, 2016 at her home. Born Aug. 23, 1929, she was the daughter of Cagie and Georgia B. Nobles. She resided in Albuquerque, N.M. before moving to Great Bend. After three years she moved to Pine Bluff, Ark.
LYONS - Phillip Alan Knight, 56, died on Aug. 22, 2016, at The Denver Hospice at Denver, Colo. Born on April 4, 1960, he was the son of Kenneth E. and Jo Anna McCoy Knight at Scott City. He was a lifetime Lyons resident. In 1968 he graduated from Lyons High School with and in 1982 from Kansas State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science. On June 1, 1980, he married Susan Annette Curtis at Prairie Village. He was a farmer/cattleman.
Delores R. Ochs, 91, died Aug. 22, 2016, at her home in Great Bend. Born Jan. 19, 1925, at Milberger, she was the daughter of Ben and Lydia (Miller) Boxberger. On April 20, 1947, she married Edwin Ochs at Otis Lutheran Church. He died Aug. 5, 1980. She was a homemaker.
Jane Powers, 76, died Aug. 17, 2016 at Golden Age Home, Cheney. She was born April 16, 1940 at Carroll, Iowa, the daughter of Fred and Charlotte (Quinn) Danner. She married Donald E. Powers Aug. 20, 1960 at Carroll, Iowa. A Great Bend resident, Mrs. Powers was an insurance clerk at Central Kansas Medical Center for 15 years.
ROSEVILLE, Calif. - Wilma Lucille "Lu" Benzel, 79, died Jan. 3, 2016. Born Aug. 2, 1936, in Florence, she was the daughter of Howard and Hazel Smith. She graduated from Augusta High School in 1954, and from Denver Colorado Women's College in 1956. She was married to Lawrence Benzel. She lived in Wheatland, Calif., for 43 years and worked as a secretary for Marysville High School for 18 years. In 1988, she became office manager for Brown's Valley Realty and later moved to Logue Realty until she retired.
HUTCHINSON - Leonard E. Robinson, 79, died Aug. 14, 2016, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. Born April 3, 1937, in Great Bend, he was the son of Winfred E. and Beulah (Booker) Robinson. Leonard was a member of the Bakery Confectioner's Union. He worked for Betts Bakery, later known as Rainbow Bakery, for 27 years and Hutchinson Community College for two years.
