Lewis and Dennie DeWitt will celebrate their 50th anniversary with a reception and dance from 6:30 to 11 p.m. on Nov. 17 at the Page Banquet Room. Hosts for the event will be their children, Julia and Neil Cordre, Darin DeWitt, Lindsey and Scott Ensley, all of Great Bend and Jane Skolaut of Nebraska; their nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Gary and Mary Durland will celebrate their 50th anniversary with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. on Nov. 17 at the Great Bend Senior Center. Hosts for the event will be their children and their families, Delbert and Barbara Downey of Wright, Brian and Jeanette Standlee of Wamego, Carla Durland of Wichita, Dave and Angela Durland of Olathe, and Ron and Diane Durland and Linda Durland, all of Great Bend. The couple has 10 grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to attend. The couple requests no gifts.
Elward and JoAnn Hiss celebrated their 65th anniversary on Oct. 25 with their children, Richard and Tina Hiss, Sandy Hiss and Jim and Melinda Hiss. The couple has four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
John and Julie Hein will celebrate their 40th anniversary on Oct. 15. The couple was married on Oct. 15, 1972, at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Hoisington. John is retired from Dillon's after 36 years and Julie is retired from Landmark National Bank after 27 years. The couple has a daughter and son-in-law, Joelle and Jay Jacobs; and two grandchildren, Jensen and Jozie. They will celebrate the occasion with a family dinner in November.
Clarke and Linda Williams of Topeka will celebrate their 50th anniversary from 2 to 4 p.m. on Oct. 13 with an Open House at the First Christian Church, 1880 SW Gage in Topeka. Hosts for the event will be their son Wade and his wife Elishua Williams and grandchildren, Conner Allyson and Alex, all of Olathe. No gifts are requested.
Glenn and Thelma Brack of Hoisington celebrated their 55th anniversary on Aug. 19. The couple was united in marriage on Aug. 19, 1957 in Wichita Falls, Texas. They have two children, Burton and Breta, and six grandchildren.

The couple has three grandchildren, Kylene and Ken Baxa of Pikeville, Ky., Kevin Kirmer and Kelli Kirmer, both of Great Bend.
Sammy and Helen Jahay of Ellinwood celebrated their 50th anniversary on Aug. 18 in the company of their family and friends who joined the celebration by attending a dinner and dance held in the couples' honor.
