Ben and Florence Shaffer will celebrate their 60th anniversary on Nov. 26 with a card shower. A family dinner will be held on Thanksgiving weekend.

Johnny and Betty Carson will celebrate their 60th anniversary on Nov. 1. Betty Brit and Johnny Carson were united in marriage on Nov. 1, 1952 in Fayetteville, Ark. John and Julie Hein will celebrate their 40th anniversary on Oct. 15. The couple was married on Oct. 15, 1972, at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Hoisington. John is retired from Dillon's after 36 years and Julie is retired from Landmark National Bank after 27 years. The couple has a daughter and son-in-law, Joelle and Jay Jacobs; and two grandchildren, Jensen and Jozie. They will celebrate the occasion with a family dinner in November.
Williams 50th
Clarke and Linda Williams of Topeka will celebrate their 50th anniversary from 2 to 4 p.m. on Oct. 13 with an Open House at the First Christian Church, 1880 SW Gage in Topeka. Hosts for the event will be their son Wade and his wife Elishua Williams and grandchildren, Conner Allyson and Alex, all of Olathe. No gifts are requested.

Richard and Joan Wagner of Topeka will celebrate their 50th anniversary on Sept. 7. Joan Weimer and Richard Wagner met in her parents' home in 1962. Her grandparents were visiting from Kansas and wanted to contact friends they had known in the Topeka area. When they came over for a visit, they brought along their son who was just out of the Navy. Glenn and Thelma Brack of Hoisington celebrated their 55th anniversary on Aug. 19. The couple was united in marriage on Aug. 19, 1957 in Wichita Falls, Texas. They have two children, Burton and Breta, and six grandchildren.

Larry and Earlene Arnold will celebrate their 50th anniversary with an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sept. 2 at the Senior Center, 2005 Kansas in Great Bend.
