The family of Wanda Nickels Witt wants to help her celebrate her 90th birthday with a reception at 2 p.m. on Oct. 6 at the Claflin United Methodist Church. Helping her celebrate will be her son, Jim Nickels and his wife, Barb of Hutchinson; her daughter, Judy Ray and husband Bob, of Hoisington; her daughter, Janelle Bennett and husband Craig of Alden; and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Opal A. Weaver will celebrate her 99th birthday with an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sept. 21 at the Cedar Park Place gathering room. Friends and family are invited to share in the celebration. Phyllis Maneth of Great Bend will celebrate her 90th birthday on July 26, with a card shower and a family gathering hosted by her children. Born in Ellinwood on July 26, 1925, the daughter of Ben and Dorothy Krampe, she has been a long-time resident of Great Bend. She was married for 50 years to Fred C. Maneth who died in 1998.
