On April 12, Hoisington High School hosted a Red Cross blood drive. Over 60 students, faculty, staff, and community members went through the process of donating. Out of the 60 plus people that came in to donate, the Red Cross received 54 good units of blood. The goal for the Hoisington High School and Community was 41 units of blood. The Hoisington community has not hit their goal in over a year.

ELLINWOOD - At its regular meeting on Monday, USD 355 School Board discussed the K-12 iPad initiative. The information was for discussion only, but under consideration is providing each child K-12 with an iPad. The goal is to roll out iPads in the next year.
Approximately 124 calls for service and 137 officer initiated calls were received for the month of May. Officers responded to seven medical/fire calls. Seven arrests were made and seven criminal summonses were served in the month of May.
