Mentoring program begins at HHS

HOISINGTON - With continuing efforts to improve, Hoisington High School seniors have begun a mentoring program for freshman to assist with the transition to high school.

Welcome to the 6th edition of Marsh Musings. Today we are going to write about a common, yet often overlooked bird found around Cheyenne Bottoms and surrounding farmlands. Cattle egrets are very plentiful around Kansas, but we often take things in our own backyard for granted, including having the largest inland wetland in the U.S. right here in Barton County. HOISINGTON - HMS Volleyball got off to a great start on Tuesday when they traveled to Hays and faced Hays Kennedy, Dodge City Sacred Heart and Larned in a Quad on the campus of Hays High School. Approximately 124 calls for service and 137 officer initiated calls were received for the month of May. Officers responded to seven medical/fire calls. Seven arrests were made and seven criminal summonses were served in the month of May.
