Hoisington Middle School scores in math relays

Hoisington Middle School 7th and 8th graders participated in the league math relays April 23 at Sacred Heart Middle School in Dodge City. There were four categories related to the Kansas Math standards. The 8th grade group consisting of Kylie Broeder, Ryan Broeder, Sienna Ludwig, Rylie Koster, Zade Sanders, and Jacob Warnken placed second in the overall competition. In the 7th grade event, Dewey Doze took third in the Algebra Portion and Vikki Donetz received a 2nd place finish in the Data Analysis. CBH technologist attends conference

Certified Surgical Technologist at Clara Barton Hospital will be removing her surgical mask for a few days to attend the National Association of Surgical Technologist Conference May 23- 27 in Washington, D.C. The professional behind this mask is Amy Foltz, a graduate from Hutchinson Community College and Certified Surgical Technologist at Clara Barton Hospital for 12 years.

Muriatic acid disposal creates hazardous waste

HOISINGTON - Someone in Hoisington is improperly disposing of hazardous waste and the result was a city waste collector was injured from muriatic acid during the Thursday route, the city council heard at its regular meeting on Monday.

Ellinwood FBLA competes at state

Ellinwood High School Future Business Leaders of America competed at the state FBLA conference March 29-30 at the Capital Plaza Convention Center in Topeka. FBLA members were competing against 6A schools in the finals, scoring enough points to be victorious in five areas.
