USD 431 to hold preschool enrollment

HOISINGTON- Roosevelt Elementary in Hoisington will have preschool pre-enrollment for next school year on April 11 from 5-7 p.m. This will be for any child that will be 3- or 4-years-old on or before Aug. 31, 2011. Please bring child's birth certificate, social security number and shot records. Physicals will be required by the start of school. If you have any questions please call the school at 620-653-4470.

Mildred A. Sayler, 91, died on March 30 at Sterling House in Great Bend. She was born July 7, 1919 on the farm in Banner Township, Rush County, the daughter of John and Frances (Smisek) Serpan.

USD 431 to hold kindergarten screening

HOISINGTON - Students that will be attending Kindergarten at Roosevelt Elementary in Hoisington for the 2011-12 school year will need to call Roosevelt Elementary to set up a screening appointment. Approximately 124 calls for service and 137 officer initiated calls were received for the month of May. Officers responded to seven medical/fire calls. Seven arrests were made and seven criminal summonses were served in the month of May.
