HOISINGTON - Some 800 bicyclists rode into Hoisington on Tuesday on their journey with Biking Across Kansas.
ELLINWOOD - The Barton County Courthouse Employee Relations Committee of Great Bend donated much needed items for the Ellinwood Food Bank. Chairperson Lorraine Rickert shared a bit of how the food bank began in Ellinwood when she accepted the donation with much gratitude.

CLALFIN - On a windy Memorial Day, Claflin residents and former Claflin residents were present at the Claflin Cemetery to commemorate those who died in military service and, in a separate ceremony, the beginning of the Claflin Ambulance Service.
Hoisington Cemetery Employees request that all arrangements and graves decorations on the ground and not at the head of the grave be removed to allow for maintenance of the grounds.
HOISINGTON - A valuable service to Hoisington residents is the trolley service which is provided by volunteers. For only 25 cents, residents can ride the trolley anywhere within a mile of the city limits of Hoisington.

HOISINGTON -After this school year, the Mid Central Activities Association activity league, which Hoisington Middle School and High School were members of, will disband. Hoisington High School will join the Central Kansas League.
ELLINWOOD -The Board of Worship of St. John Lutheran Church, 5th and Wilhelm, announces the 4th Annual Festival of Carols, at 3:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon, December 1st. The organists of St. John's along with guest organist, Don Regehr, Ellinwood High School Band Director, and the St. John Lutheran church choir will all perform some of the seasons best and invite the congregation to sing along on many of them.
