CBF purchases cardiac monitors with proceeds from annual benefit

HOISINGTON - Clara Barton Foundation's 18th annual Benefit Golf Tournament, Dinner and Auction in June netted $38,900. The money raised is having an impact on quality of care received at Clara Barton Hospital's Emergency room. Proceeds from this year's event are being used to replace aging cardiac equipment through the purchase three cardiac monitors. These monitors are located at the bedside in each of the hospital's emergency rooms to meet any patient acuity need. This equipment will assist in prompt assessment, identification and ultimately lead to timely treatment of many medical conditions by our medical providers ...

KDOT conducts survey of US-56/K-96 in Ellinwood

The Kansas Department of Transportation will have a survey team surveying US-56/K-96 through the city of Ellinwood starting the week of July 5, to plan for possible future roadway improvements. The survey work is expected to be complete in about four months on this 1.65 mile area. KDOT asks drivers to be alert to the presence of the survey crew and drive cautiously.

Local officers Hanzlik and Kirkland play integral role in deer poaching convictions

HOISINGTON - Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks game wardens Brian Hanzlik of Hoisington and Phil Kirkland based out of Stafford County played an integral role in the investigation of James and Marlin Butler, two men recently convicted in a deer poaching scheme.

City of Ellinwood announces trash pick-up schedule

Trash pickup for the week of July 4 will be Tuesday and Thursday on the east side and Wednesday and Friday on the west side due to the 4th of July holiday.
