It is ""Eagle Time" in Kansas! It seems that we have had more eagles this year than any in my memory. All of the reservoirs have eagles in residence. I have located a couple of nests with eggs under these beautiful mothers. Both parents share the incubating duty that is 35 days, but the female spends most of the time on the eggs. ELLINWOOD - USD 355 Ellinwood School Board approved in a special meeting, a new track, bleachers and fencing at the high school football field. Construction is projected to start the last day of track season and last all summer with a finish date of Sept. 1 in time for football season.

ELLINWOOD -The Ellinwood School/Community Library is excited to welcome national award winning author Cynthia Kadohata to the Ellinwood library for a series of events during the first week of March. The schedule of events includes presentations to student groups, student book signings, and question and answer sessions on Wednesday, March 5th.
Approximately 121 calls for service and 112 officer initiated calls were received for the month of January. Officers responded to 11 medical/fire calls. Ten arrests were made and four criminal summonses were served in the month of January.
