USD 112 receives grant

LORRRAINE - USD 112, Quivira Heights and Wilson Schools, are three of 4,000 libraries across the country selected by the National Endowment for the Humanities and the American Library Association to receive free hardcover editions of 17 classic books as part of the We the People Bookshelf grant program. The theme of this year's Bookshelf is "A More Perfect Union."

Ellinwood Police Department Monthly Report for August

Approximately 100 calls for service and 125 Officer initiated calls were received for the month of August. Officers responded to seven medical/fire calls and worked four non-injury accidents. three arrests and five criminal summonses were issued in the month of August.

KOC to hold poker tournament

The Hoisington Knights of Columbus will hold a Texas Hold 'Em poker tournament to raise funds for area charities. The tournament will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 11 at the KOC Hall, 114 N. Main.
