CPMS names 'Student of the Month'

BUSHTON - Central Plains Middle School named Jada Whiterock the December Student of the Month. Whiterock is the daughter of Jackie and Carol Whiterock and is in the seventh grade. Whiterock has four brothers: Josh, 15, Jaydon, 10, Brian, 8, and Charlie, 4.

Hoisington Community Development Inc. receives funding

Hoisington Community Development Inc. has been awarded a $5,000 loan at 1 percent interest from Hoisington Main Street Inc.'s Revolving Loan Fund. The loan is for the addition of an ADA restroom and ceiling repairs at 157 S. Main.

HOLYROOD - DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) culmination for the Central Plains Elementary School 5th graders took place on Monday, after 11 weeks of classroom education. Barton County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Brad Patzner instructed 24 students from Lisa Ryan and Kara Potter's classes.
