Hoisington KAY Club formed

HOISINGTON - Both Hoisington Middle School and Hoisington High School established Kansas Association for Youth clubs in their buildings this year. KAY is an organization, offered through the Kansas State High School Activity Association, that teaches leadership and character through service. Great Bend boy diagnosed with cancer

Kans for Kids Fighting Cancer Foundation has announced that a fund has been established for 23-month-old Kaito Richter, Great Bend, who was recently diagnosed with cancer. He is undergoing chemotherapy treatment in Wichita. He is the son of Amber Beverley and Nick Richter, Great Bend.

USD 431 receives grant

HOISINGTON - Hoisington Middle School was notified that they have received a grant for $4,500 to promote and educate students about composting, and they plan to use waste from the lunchroom for that. Students will be trained in waste management with real life and career applications.
