CB Hospital employees make donation to foundation

Employee contributions to Clara Barton Hospital Foundation's annual membership drive reached an all-time high this week with 100 employees contributing to the 2011-12 annual membership campaign.

Hoisington students meet state Standard of Excellence

Kansas students, including those in Hoisington's Unified School District 431, improved performance on statewide reading and mathematics assessments for the 11th straight year, according to results from the 2011 Kansas Statewide Assessments. Results showed that in the areas of reading and mathematics, there are higher percentages of students performing at the exemplary level than at any of the other four performance levels on the assessments.

Mauler receives general ultrasound, vascular certification

HOISINGTON - Clara Barton Hospital announced that Rebecca Mauler, radiologic technologist, recently earned national credentials in ultrasound. Mauler earned credentials from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS). She is a graduate of Fort Hays State University, where she earned her bachelor's degree in Radiology in 2009.

Planning for After Prom party to be held on Tuesday

ELLINWOOD - Ellinwood High School parents we will be having an After Prom meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 29 at 7 p.m. in the Ellinwood Library conference room. Plans are under way for the 2012 After Prom party. Jointhem on Tuesday to help plan a safe and successful After Prom party. Johnson placed on administrative leave

HOISINGTON Hoisington High School volleyball coach Tina Johnson was placed on administrative leave on Friday, Nov. 18, according to Superintendent Bill Lowry. He had no other comment.

HHS student accepted in honor band

HOISINGTON - Hoisington High School student Austin Stout, senior, auditioned and got accepted to perform in the Southwest Kansas Music Educators Association district honor band. On Saturday, Dec. 3, he will be traveling to Dodge City high school to perform with all the other students from the southwest district who got accepted into this ensemble.
