HAYS -The purchase of green energy will soon be possible for Midwest Energy electrical customers. Solar panels will be for sale by Midwest Energy and Clean Energy Collective in a cooperative solar farm at a location that is yet undetermined.

It is just a antelope. I went with my friend to New Mexico for a few days. He is originally from that state. For the 20-plus years that I have known him, he has dreamed of spending a significant part of his life close to his roots. His urge to do that seems stronger than for most folks. His relatives live in that area, and it was a true pleasure to see his eyes soften and feel his heart thump peacefully while we were there.
HOISINGTON - The Hoisington City Council, at its meeting on Monday, discussed a resolution to add fines for those that leave polycarts out on the street for more than 24 hours after trash pickup.
HOISINGTON - Parents will no longer have to struggle to find care for their elementary age children for those extra couple hours per day after school in Hoisington when a new after school care program begins next fall. The name of the new business is GPS Kids Club.

HOISINGTON - In order to build student engagement, responsibility and leadership, students K-12 at USD 431 will for the first time ever, lead parent-teacher grade conferences next week at the schools.
Approximately 125 calls for service and 82 officer initiated calls were received for the month of February. Officers responded to 17 medical/fire calls. Seven arrests were made and nine criminal summonses were served in the month of February.

This has been a very exciting week. I have enjoyed my five Canadian friends who come almost every year to hunt turkeys with their traditional archery equipment. They got three turkeys and departed on Thursday. Being up by 4:30 a.m. to get coffee and head out for 10 days in a row gives us time to re-affirm our friendship.
