ELLINWOOD - The Ellinwood Public Education and Library Foundation named its first ever Educator of the Year, Evelyn Stegman at the faculty luncheon last week, for her understanding of the true meaning of the word, teacher.
The Ellinwood Rotary Club in cooperation with the Ellinwood Chamber of Commerce is in the process of organizing the After Harvest Festival parade held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 19. Line-up will begin at 9 a.m. on Park Street on the west edge of Ellinwood.
HOISINGTON - A medical expense fund has been established for 4-year-old Cameron Grubb, Hoisington, who has been diagnosed with Midaortic Syndrome and Renovascular Hypertension, an extremely rare condition affecting children and young adults. It is characterized by progressive narrowing of the abdominal aorta and its major branches. Affecting the child's kidneys, this condition causes extreme hypertension and may require several procedures, including extensive surgery to be corrected.
HOISINGTON - Hoisington High School student Ashley Lockwood was honored as the Outstanding Forensics Student recently at the Hoisington High School Cardinal Forensics Team Banquet. Logan McHenry and Micaila Curtis were honored as the Outstanding Novice Forensics Students.
CLAFLIN -Fizz, Boom, Read! The Claflin Independent Township Library will feature the magic and comedy of Dan Dan the Magic Man. The Great Bend High School teacher and native Kansan will bring his traveling show to the annual summer reading program at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 3.
