Sloppy Joe Feed to be held HOISINGTON - A Sloppy Joe Feed fundraiser will be held for Terri Cornwell Szendrodi to help with medical bills. It will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on March 9 at the Taproom South, 170 S. Main. The menu will consist of sloppy joes, beans, chips, pickles and water or tea for $5. CLAFLIN -Claflin Lions Club members will be selling tickets for their Annual Seafood Buffet now through March 15. The menu for the evening will include all you can eat servings of fish, shrimp, clam chowder, crab salad, scalloped potatoes, vegetables, bread, coffee or tea.

HOISINGTON - The Hoisington Recreation Commissions bus trip to Dodge City Boot Hill Casino / Roto Mix Shootout still has some openings. The bus leaves at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 15. With a eye towards the surreal and with the deep roots of faith, Ellinwood native Todd Fox will exhibit his artwork of the Passion of Christ at the Barton Community College Schafer Gallery from March 6- 29. On March 7, there will be a reception from 6-8 p.m. at the gallery.
ELLINWOOD - The Ellinwood Rotary Club announces the 2013 theme for the After Harvest Festival Parade to be held at 10 a.m. July 2. This year's theme is "Home Is Where Our Story Begins." They are hoping registrants for the parade will incorporate this year's theme into their parade float.
HOISINGTON -On April 29 and April 30, the Hoisington Middle School vocal group performed its play "School Daze" at Roosevelt and Lincoln Elementary Schools. The vocal group is made up of 7th and 8th grade students from Hoisington Middle School.

ELLINWOOD - The Six Pack Volleyball Club finished their long season with not one, or two, but three of their teams on the top of the region that spans from Goodland, to Liberal, to Kearney, to St. Louis.
CLAFLIN - The Central Plains High School Pipeline Yearbook staff had a successful state competition. All five members of the staff received recognition for their work at the Kansas Scholastic Press Association's State Contest in Lawrence this past weekend.

ELLINWOOD - The criterion for the Alan Fullbright Scholarship are a reflection of what was significant in Alan Fullbright's life. The 2013 scholarship recipients are Stephanie Troyer who will be majoring in Music Education and attending Barton Community College. She has held several offices in KAY, FBLA, International Club and was the Student Council secretary and vice president of her class.
