HOISINGTON - The Hoisington Cardinal Forensics Team wrapped up its 2011 season with two medalists at state competition, held May 7 at East High School in Wichita.
CLAFLIN - The Summer Reading Program at the Claflin Independent Township Library will start 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 4. The theme this year is "One World, Many Stories." The director this year is Rachael Stueder.

LAWRENCE – Fifth-year students at the University of Kansas School of Pharmacy made the transition from student to pharmacist on April 26, when they officially donned their white coats.
HOISINGTON - The Clara Barton Hospital Foundation will hold their 18th annual Benefit Dinner and Auction on Friday, June 17, at the Hoisington Knights of Columbus, 114 N. Main.
CLAFLIN - The Claflin Independent Township Library will have an open house from 2 to 5 p.m., after the All-School Reunion Parade, on Sunday, May 29. Refreshments will be served in the meeting room. The library is located at 108 Main in Claflin.
ELLINWOOD - The City of Ellinwood heard a good audit report for 2010 at its regular monthly meeting. Amber Littler from Adams, Brown Beran and Ball praised the city on the organization of the books.
