ELLINWOOD - The City of Ellinwood heard a good audit report for 2010 at its regular monthly meeting. Amber Littler from Adams, Brown Beran and Ball praised the city on the organization of the books.

ELLINWOOD - The Ellinwood Rotary Club, in cooperation with the Ellinwood Chamber of Commerce, is in the process of organizing the After Harvest Festival Parade to be held Saturday, July 16, at 10 a.m. Line-up will begin at 9 a.m. on Park Street on the west edge of Ellinwood.
Preceptor Delta Zeta Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi announces the recipients of this year's scholarships. Ellinwood High School seniors receiving the scholarships include: Rana Ahmadi, CJ Bookout, Jacob Christiansen, Montara Johansen, Derek Moos, Brittany Pflughoeft, Reba Thomas, and Brett Whelan. Each student will receive a $200 scholarship.
HOISINGTON - The Hoisington City Council heard a report this week on blighted properties from Don Doerschlag, the city's code enforcement officer.
HOISINGTON - LaShon Van Scyoc has taken over as the new owner of the downtown barbershop at 119 Main in Hoisington. Van Scyoc has lived all of life in Hoisington and is taking over from the former owner, Bob Vincent, who also happens to be his wife's grandfather.

Claflin High School will hold the All-Awards Banquet at 6:30 p.m. on May 11 at the Claflin High School gym. The meal is pot luck and service with drink will be provided. The community is welcome to attend.
CLAFLIN - Former Claflin resident Phil Grosshardt has been named as the announcer for the parade for the upcoming All-School Reunion in Claflin on Memorial Day weekend. Entries for the parade will line-up at the baseball field at Claflin High School at noon on May 29, the day of the parade.
The American Red Cross will be at the Hoisington Activity Center, 1200 Susank Rd. to accept blood donations from 2:15-7 p.m. on May 9.
ELLINWOOD - The Six Pack Volleyball Club finished their long season with not one, or two, but three of their teams on the top of the region that spans from Goodland, to Liberal, to Kearney, to St. Louis.
CLAFLIN - The Central Plains High School Pipeline Yearbook staff had a successful state competition. All five members of the staff received recognition for their work at the Kansas Scholastic Press Association's State Contest in Lawrence this past weekend.
CLAFLIN - Claflin will hold its 3rd annual 5K/10K run or walk at 7:30 a.m. on May 25 beginning at Claflin City Park.
ELLINWOOD - The criterion for the Alan Fullbright Scholarship are a reflection of what was significant in Alan Fullbright's life. The 2013 scholarship recipients are Stephanie Troyer who will be majoring in Music Education and attending Barton Community College. She has held several offices in KAY, FBLA, International Club and was the Student Council secretary and vice president of her class.
