HMS celebrates Kansas Day

HOISINGTON - Hoisington Middle School students celebrated Kansas Day with a couple of hands-on activities. The first activity was making homemade whole-wheat yeast rolls for the entire student body. Students from Susan Lowry's and Tina Johnson's classes made four batches of yeast rolls.

The Individual Retirement Account Charitable Rollover, first enacted by Congress in 2006, expired in 2009. EMS/HS band to hold dinner

ELLINWOOD - The Ellinwood Middle and High School Bands will be holding the annual Chicken Noodle Dinner from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Feb. 6 in the Ellinwood High School Commons Area. Please note that this is a change of venue from past years. Tickets may be purchased from any middle or high school band member and will also be available at the door. Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for children ages 3-10. Carry-out orders will be available.

Alan Fullbright Scholarships awarded

ELLINWOOD - The criterion for the Alan Fullbright Scholarship are a reflection of what was significant in Alan Fullbright's life. The 2013 scholarship recipients are Stephanie Troyer who will be majoring in Music Education and attending Barton Community College. She has held several offices in KAY, FBLA, International Club and was the Student Council secretary and vice president of her class.
