‘Talking Tombstones’ is ‘on’ for next Thurs. night at cemetery

The Talking Tombstones program previously scheduled in July but postponed due to the extreme heat and humidity at that time has been rescheduled for next Thursday, Sept. 23. The event, sponsored by the Wet/Dry Routes Chapter of the Santa Fe Trail Association in conjunction with the Larned Convention and Tourism Committee, will be presented at the Larned Cemetery beginning at 7 p.m.

Rozel tornado videos

A tornado developed six miles southwest of Rozel at 7:18 p.m. and moved one mile west of town before turning to the northwest and dissipating about three miles northwest of Rozel at 7:47 p.m. Five farms were damaged by this tornado, including one farm house that lost most of its roof and some of its exterior walls.
