LARNED - Jordaan Memorial Library will be closed part of next week. The boiler is being replaced and the library has been without heat for the last week and a half. The building has gotten progressively colder. The library will reopen when the boiler has been replaced.
Whereas, Veterans Day is an opportunity for the citizens of Larned to remember and show their appreciation for the significant and positive social and economic impact that the military- Active, Reserve, and National Guard-has had on world history during times of peace and during times of war: and
HAYS - After finishing second during the regular season with a 5-1 record, the Larned third and fourth grade Junior Indian football team went 2-1 in the eight team Tournament of Champions to earn third place in the Western Kansas Football League.
LARNED - The Larned "Band of Indians" earned I ratings and featured an excellent drum line rating and a superior color guard rating at the High Plains Marching Festival recently at Fort Hays State University. This is the fourth year in a row that the "Band of Indians" earned a I rating at the Hays Marching Festival.
LARNED - The Pawnee County Commission met at 9 a.m. April 13 and sat as the Board of Canvassers, to Canvass the April 7, 2015, General Elections for: City of Larned; City of Burdett; City of Garfield; City of Rozel; USD 495; USD 496; and U.S.D. No. 495 School Bond Election.
