Eighteen members of the Quilting Bees Guild met on Sept. 7. Ann Hicks, president, welcomed new member Susan Gray. The "Puss in the Corner" friendship blocks were won by Diane Schultz and the school fat quarter drawing was won by Opal Macy. A tornado developed six miles southwest of Rozel at 7:18 p.m. and moved one mile west of town before turning to the northwest and dissipating about three miles northwest of Rozel at 7:47 p.m. Five farms were damaged by this tornado, including one farm house that lost most of its roof and some of its exterior walls.
