LARNED – Members of the Pawnee County Public Building Commission are considering two bonding companies for financing for a proposed $18 million Pawnee Valley Community Hospital (PVCH).
LARNED – Pawnee Valley Community Hospital, Larned, has achieved national ranking among a select group of hospitals receiving Stage 6 Certification by The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Analytics.
LARNED - Larned High School seniors were recognized for scholarships they have accepted and top students in various subject areas were honored during a ceremony Thursday at the Larned Middle School Gymnasium.
LARNED - The Larned High jazz band 'Sun Riz" were "Crazy With the Blues," creating a "Land of Make Believe," during an entertaining Wednesday afternoon at the Farmers State Bank.
LARNED - The Jordaan Foundation Inc. has awarded five Jordaan Scholars awards for the 2011-2012 school year to Larned High School's Ivan Garcia II, Tyler Gleason, Shanna Prescott and Karlee Rainbolt, and Katherine Ann Karst of Pawnee Heights High School.

LARNED - Larned High School's Kara Amon and Liberty Turner and Sarah Hales of Pawnee Heights High School have been awarded Cliff and Nina Fell Foundation Scholarships. The 2011 scholarships provide $2,000 each for the three winners to be used in attending a Kansas college or university.

The No. 1 doubles tandem of senior Alexis Langdon and junior Amanda Lessard led Larned High with a runner-up finish in the Larned Tennis Tournament. Langdon and Lessard finished with a 3-1 record at No. 1 doubles, beating teams from Hoisington, Cimarron and Lyons.
LARNED - Pawnee Valley Community Hospital Foundation's Second Annual Charity Gala, "Some Enchanted Evening" will be held on Saturday, Oct. 25, at the Larned Community Center. A glimpse into this exquisite evening begins with the Social Hour at 5:45 p.m. followed by an elegant dinner served at 7 p.m.
