Fort Larned hosts Kansas Anthropological Association for International Archeology Day

The Kansas Anthropological Association (KAA) will have their 2015 Fall Fling and International Archeology Day Observance at Fort Larned Friday, Oct. 30 through Sunday, Nov. 1. KAA is a group of individuals and institutions interested in the prehistoric and historic peoples of this area, and in the preservation and interpretation of archeological and ethnological remains within the state. HESSTON - Returning state qualifier Delainee Gordon led Larned with a fourth-place finish (21:21.06) in the Central Kansas League cross country meet at Hesston.

Pawnee commission approves order for DOC adult/juvenile reimbursement fees

LARNED - The Pawnee County Commission met at 9 a.m. Oct. 12 for a special meeting. Pawnee County commissioners Kathy Bowman; Donna Pelton, chair; and Gary Caplinger, were present. The following are approved minutes submitted by Pawnee County clerk Ruth Searight.

Larned High School blood drive

On Monday, Larned High School sponsored a blood drive, mainly for Larned High School students, to encourage young people to be blood donors. The Red Cross was able to collect 44 usable units, with 30 new blood donors. This is the first of two LHS drives. The LHS National Honor Society hosts and works the blood drives. Another one will be scheduled in the spring.

Larned's Gordon qualifies for state cross-country

CIMARRON – Larned's Delainee Gordon qualified for the fourth time for state cross country with a fourth-place finish at the Cimarron Class 3A regional. Gordon (20:58.78) will compete at Lawrence with Hoisington's Rylie Koester, a sixth-place finisher (21:34.24).
