Two Larned players earn all-league honors

LARNED - Larned High hitters Alyson Aldrich and Aarika Bright earned honorable mention Central Kansas League volleyball honors. The Indians finished with a 10-26 record, 2-9 in CKL play. Hoisington's Marisa Jonas, Hoisington earned honorable mention honors. The Cardinals finished 10-25 and 5-6 in league play.

Humphrey named Larned logo winner

Dallas Humphrey, Larned High student, designed a new logo that will be used for school activities. "Nobody in the country has this "L," and I think that's pretty cool," said Dustin Wilson, Larned High athletic director. Larned is using the logo for school uniforms and school apparel. Joining Humphrey for a group photo are Dustin Wilson, Larned athletic director; Wendy Sundahl, Larned High art teacher; Dallas Humphrey and A.B. Stokes, Larned High football coach. Kristin Keith serves as the president of the Indian Booster Club.

Fort Larned hosts Kansas Anthropological Association for International Archeology Day

The Kansas Anthropological Association (KAA) will have their 2015 Fall Fling and International Archeology Day Observance at Fort Larned Friday, Oct. 30 through Sunday, Nov. 1. KAA is a group of individuals and institutions interested in the prehistoric and historic peoples of this area, and in the preservation and interpretation of archeological and ethnological remains within the state. Pawnee commission approves order for DOC adult/juvenile reimbursement fees

Larned High School blood drive

On Monday, Larned High School sponsored a blood drive, mainly for Larned High School students, to encourage young people to be blood donors. The Red Cross was able to collect 44 usable units, with 30 new blood donors. This is the first of two LHS drives. The LHS National Honor Society hosts and works the blood drives. Another one will be scheduled in the spring.
