LARNED - Larned Fire Chief Bill Clapham said public safety and firefighter safety will be enhanced with the purchase of a specially-designed fire rescue vehicle.
LARNED - Revival services at the Larned Church of the Nazarene begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday March 23 with Rev. Randy Dority, Sarcoxie, Mo., as evangelist. Services are also scheduled at 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday and conclude at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday. The public is invited to attend.

Dr. Bill Brenner presented a copy of book "I'm Praying Hard For You"- Love Letter to a Death Camp: The World War II Ordeal of Bill and Jo Brenner" to Jordaan Memorial Library. This is the personal story of a young couple whose lives were dramatically affected by when he was taken prisoner by the Japanese. It is the story of ordinary people who participated in extraordinary events. Dr. Brenner will sign copies of his book at Mystic Cove Saturday, March 12, 2011.
Jordaan Library is currently displaying a Batman collection belonging to David Hutchins, age 11, in the library display cases. Hutchins began the collection when he was 5 years old, and has continued adding to it over time. This display is just a portion of what he has collected. LARNED - The Santa Fe Trail Center Museum is busily preparing for the 18th biennial Rendezvous, a history seminar to be held in Larned Sept. 18-20.
LARNED - The Pawnee County Learning Center, located at 209 E. 6th Street in Larned, is currently enrolling students for the 2014-2015 school year. Open enrollment will continue through Sept. 19 and is offered free of charge. The program provides classes to anyone over the age of 18 who wants to earn a high school diploma.
LARNED - Pawnee County Humane Society has scheduled a Labor of Love 5K/10K Race Monday.

LARNED - The general area of concentration for the Wet/Dry Routes Chapters is between the Ash Creek Crossing and Fort Dodge, in the Kansas counties of Pawnee, Edwards and Ford.
LARNED - Eighty members and guests of the Santa Fe Trail Trail Wet-Dry Chapter met Sunday at Country Living for the summer meeting and ice cream social.
