Larned's Santa Fe Trail Center Museum is featuring a special display of nearly 450 angels during the Christmas holiday season. The display includes angels of all shapes and sizes, from very small to 8 feet tall and made from brass, pewter, wood, glass, porcelain, cloth, and metal. This unique variety of angels ranges from the traditional to contemporary and from fanciful to elegant. The angels are on loan from members of the community and none of the angels are antique. LARNED - Superintendent Kevin McMurry has announced that Fort Larned National Historic Site, a unit of the U.S. National Park Service, will be closed Dec. 25 and Dec. 26.
In cooperation with Bill Fairchild of the Fort Larned Lions Club, area members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have collected 134 non-perishable food items for the benefit of the people in Larned.
LARNED - A retirement reception honoring Elanna Harger and Macy Cook, employees of the Larned Juvenile Correctional Facility, was held recently with co-workers, friends and family in attendance.

LARNED - Larned High School's Chapter of Fellowship of Christian Athletes wanted to find a program that is often overlooked during the holiday seasons last year. Sarah Liston, this year's FCA president, suggested that the organization sponsor a drive to collect baby items called "Bundles for Babies," for those in need right here at home in Pawnee County.

The Larned Lady Indians won the Hoisington tournament (199) by beating Hoisington (201) at Lake Barton Golf Course north of Great Bend. Dorothy Keenan captured medalist honors (44) for the fifth time this year. Haley Skelton placed third (46).
