Jordaan Library is currently displaying a Batman collection belonging to David Hutchins, age 11, in the library display cases. Hutchins began the collection when he was 5 years old, and has continued adding to it over time. This display is just a portion of what he has collected. A new temporary exhibit about music is now on display at the Santa Fe Trail Center, Larned, featuring items from the museum's collection. Visitors can learn about the early development of music reproduction from the player piano to both cylinder and disc records. Nathan Chlumsky of Larned and Michael Alnore of Rozel will be re-opening the Larned Family Israeli/Okinawan Kobra Kai Karate and Mixed Martial Arts Academy. The school is located at 505 Broadway, next to Vanley's, in Larned. Jerry Buxton, the Great Bend Tribune's reporter covering Pawnee County, died Saturday at the Hospice House in Hutchinson after a brief, but valiant, battle with cancer. He was a valuable member of the Tribune team and a long-time friend. Below are some remembrances written by his co-workers at the paper. His obituary appears on page 3 of today's Tribune.
