Nathan Chlumsky of Larned and Michael Alnore of Rozel will be re-opening the Larned Family Israeli/Okinawan Kobra Kai Karate and Mixed Martial Arts Academy. The school is located at 505 Broadway, next to Vanley's, in Larned. Jerry Buxton, the Great Bend Tribune's reporter covering Pawnee County, died Saturday at the Hospice House in Hutchinson after a brief, but valiant, battle with cancer. He was a valuable member of the Tribune team and a long-time friend. Below are some remembrances written by his co-workers at the paper. His obituary appears on page 3 of today's Tribune.

Students from six Kansas high schools will be honored Thursday, Feb. 10, by the University of Kansas Alumni Association and KU Endowment.
The Kansas Room in Jordaan Memorial Library is a collection of books by Kansas Authors and information about Kansas History. Newspapers printed in Larned are on microfilm and a reader printer is available to read the papers. There is also information on pioneer families in Pawnee County.
