13 inducted into NHS chapter at LHS

Thirteen new members for 2010, in the Larned High School National Honor Society chapter, were inducted in a ceremony Tuesday evening in the LHS Choir Room. Brittanie Miller, vice president of the chapter and a continuing member from 2009, welcomed the new members.

Larned 'Band of Indians' receives Superior rating

On Monday, the Larned High School "Band of Indians" traveled to Fort Hays State University to participate in the High Plains Marching Festival. The band has been working since August preparing their show, "The Best of Queen." They performed "Another One Bites the Dust," "Bicycle Race" and "Bohemian Rhapsody." 40 enjoy friendly competition in ‘Run for Charity’

The First "Run For Charity," sponsored by Progressive Therapy & Sports Medicine, was held Oct. 9 to benefit the Pawnee County Health Department. Organizers plan to make the event an annual one. Fifty-one members and guests attended Sunday's fall quarterly meeting of the Wet/Dry Routes Chapter of the Santa Fe Trail Association. It was held at Fort Larned National Historic Site. LHC administrator praises community,

The Larned community has been "wonderful, supportive, active," in its relationship with Larned Healthcare Center, Alisha Heyen told attendees at last Thursday's Chamber Coffee Hour, hosted by LHC. She said results of an August survey of the facility were good. Hillside Elementary kids will trick or treat Friday

The kindergarten classes at Hillside Elementary will be coming downtown to have a safe Trick or Treat event on Friday. Last Chance Golf Tourney is 'Great success' once again

The 20th Annual Last Chance Golf Tournament was held at the Larned Country Club on Oct. 17. The team of Jim Haynes, Keith Haynes, Brian Haynes and Glenn Salm won the championship flight. Twenty teams of four players each took part in the tourney.
