Thirteen new members for 2010, in the Larned High School National Honor Society chapter, were inducted in a ceremony Tuesday evening in the LHS Choir Room. Brittanie Miller, vice president of the chapter and a continuing member from 2009, welcomed the new members.

On Monday, the Larned High School "Band of Indians" traveled to Fort Hays State University to participate in the High Plains Marching Festival. The First "Run For Charity," sponsored by Progressive Therapy & Sports Medicine, was held Oct. 9 to benefit the Pawnee County Health Department. Organizers plan to make the event an annual one. The 20th Annual Last Chance Golf Tournament was held at the Larned Country Club on Oct. 17. The team of Jim Haynes, Keith Haynes, Brian Haynes and Glenn Salm won the championship flight. Twenty teams of four players each took part in the tourney.
