LARNED - Upon first inspection, State Senator Allen Schmidt was duly impressed by the Larned State Hospital facilities. Monday marked the first visit to the Larned State Hospital complex for Schmidt, a Democrat representing District 36, since February.

LARNED - Ruth Searight, Pawnee County clerk, reports filings for the city/school board election scheduled April 7 as of Thursday morning, Jan. 22, 2015. The final filing date is noon, Tuesday, Jan. 27.
LARNED - Larned's newest housing project has been named Prairie Vista by the Larned city council.
Larned High qualified students for the State KMEA band festival scheduled Feb. 28 - Jennifer Applequist, oboe; Kwinter Hartshorn, tuba; Austin Carrington, baritone, and Kate Schroeder, flute, who earned honorable mention.
