LARNED - Nineteen Larned High School entries earned a I rating and qualified for state competition in Saturday's Class 3-1A music regional for solo and small emsembles at Larned High School. Class 1A, 2A and 3A schools competed at the regional.

LARNED - Larned Mayor Robert Pivonka retained his seat Tuesday after a challenge from Lee Hockett. Pivonka received 361 votes and Hockett had 214 votes.

Open enrollment will continue through Sept. 19 and is offered free of charge. The program provides classes to anyone over the age of 18 who wants to earn a high school diploma.

LARNED - The general area of concentration for the Wet/Dry Routes Chapters is between the Ash Creek Crossing and Fort Dodge, in the Kansas counties of Pawnee, Edwards and Ford.
