Back by popular demand, The Diamonds will be performing in Larned, a special encore performance on Sunday, Dec, 5, at the Larned Community Center beginning at 7 p.m. Sponsoring this concert is Prairie Arts Unlimited as part of their performing arts series. This is a truly unique concert for The Diamonds as they will be featuring a selection of Christmas favorites.

The Pawnee Valley Community Hospital Auxiliary will sponsor "Craft Day" on Saturday, Dec. 4, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in downtown Larned. This year's "Craft Day" promises to be bigger and better, and the community and area will enjoy the variety that the show will offer.
To wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving at Larned High School, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes invited both staff and students to enjoy a hot breakfast in the LHS gym on Friday, Nov. 19. Approximately 75 to 100 students and staff enjoyed scrambled eggs, biscuits and sausage gravy, and orange juice, which were provided and served by members of the Ministerial Association of Pawnee County. A big thank-you goes out to those pastors who got up early to prepare and to serve this meal.
The 2010 Salvation Army Fund Drive in Pawnee County begins Nov. 29, the Monday following Thanksgiving. The three-week drive concludes Thursday, Dec. 23.
Members of the Quilting Bees guild met on Nov. 16. In the absence of the president, Virginia Bauer and Alice Clapsaddle chaired the meeting. Announcements included the Dec. 7 Christmas dinner and party at 6:30 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church. Members are to bring a dish to share and a gift to exchange. The snowflake fat quarters will be drawn as well as the friendship blocks.
KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Mary Beth Herrmann, RN, registered nurse, administrator and health officer for the Pawnee County Health Department in Larned, was one of 10 winners selected Friday, Oct. 22, at the Hyatt Regency Crown Center, Kansas City, Mo., from several hundred Nursing the Heart of Healthcare award nominees.

PRATT - Two Larned High wrestlers came within one victory of qualifying for the Class 4A state wrestling tournament at Salina. Larned's Hunter Fitzpatrick (106) and Jeremiah Slattery (182) advanced to the consolation finals at the Pratt wrestling regional before losing.
Larned's Scholar's Bowl competed at regionals at Ulysses. Team members are from left, Lauren Zerr, Josh East, Reed Russom, Kwinter Hartshorn, Wyatt Davis and Kate Schoeder. Andale, Rose Hill and Pratt qualified for state.
Larned High's Ally Aldrich won the 3-point contest at the Pratt Tournament.
