LARNED - The Pawnee County Commission met at 9 a.m. Aug. 31 for a regular meeting. Pawnee County commissioners Kathy Bowman; Donna Pelton, chair; and Gary Caplinger, were present. The following are approved minutes submitted by Pawnee County clerk Ruth Searight.
GOLF EVENT-Golfers will tee off to provide better healthcare in Pawnee County during Pawnee Valley Community Hospital Foundation's Sixth Annual "Tee Off For Better Health" Benefit Golf Classic scheduled Sept. 27 at Larned Country Club.

LARNED - Larned High's girls tennis team is coached by Mark Lessard. Larned opens at home at 3 p.m. Thursday at Doerr-Vernon Park and Moffet Stadium. No. 1 singles and doubles will be played at Doerr-Vernon Park. No. 2 singles and doubles will be plated at Moffet Stadium. The courts at Doerr-Vernon were not available last fall.
At the Cimarron Golf Tournament, Larned placed third. Dorothy Keenan finished as fourth medalist; Haley Skelton placed eighth; Emma Ayre finished 13th, and Madison Gleason placed 15th.
