WAUPUN, Wis. - Viroqua, Wis. rallied for five consecutive wins and beat Glenwood-Lowry, Minn. 4-1 Sunday to capture the Central Plains American Legion Class AA National Baseball Regional.

Top Supercharged Thunder at Sunflower Rod and Custom Association Drag Strip

The Colorado Rocky Mountain Superchargers rolled into the Sunflower Rod and Custom Association's (SRCA) dragstrip in Great Bend on Saturday. Some folks like to characterize this as the Colorado-Kansas summer shootout. The Super Chargers are a travelling racing tour with cars from Kansas and Colorado. It was a beautiful overcast day providing cool temperatures and lots of O2 for maximum horsepower resulting in some very fast acceleration competition.

There was a terrific AAA American Legion State Baseball Tournament played in Great Bend last weekend, and in the days preceding it. At the same time in Fort Scott, the AA tournament was being played.

Hoisington captures K-18 title

Hoisington's K 18 13-15 year old Red baseball team capped off a successful season on July 27, by winning the K 18 state championship in Lucas. The Red team finished the regular season first in their division with a record of 20-4.

Barton Soccer to offer one day camp

The Barton Community College soccer programs are offering a youth soccer camp from 9:30 a.m. to noon Saturday. Open to boys and girls ages 4-18 years old regardless of skill and ability levels, the camp's goal is to help each camper become a better all-around soccer player in a rewarding and fun manner. Campers will work in small teams taught by Barton coaches and talented players focusing on individual, technical and team training while increasing knowledge of the game.
