SALINA - The Great Bend Middle School girls' "A" and "B" basketball teams opened the new year with victories on the road on Thursday at Salina South.
At the Christmas break, the Great Bend Middle School eighth-grade boys basketball "A" team record stands at 7-2.
ELLINWOOD - Six Pack, a club volleyball team, opened their season on Dec. 16 in Wichita. The team for 17-year-olds finished third in a tournament of nine teams. Teammates include Kelsea Ward, Sophie Hayes, Amanda Tucker, Elizabeth Frakes, Briana Holmes, Jenna Collins, Kylee Kasselman and Emily Baldwin.
HAYS - The Great Bend Middle School eighth-grade Panthers "A" basketball team suffered their first loss of the season last Thursday at Hays Middle School.
On Saturday, the GBMS girls' "A" basketball team defeated Hays Middle School 33-27 in overtime to improve to 6-2 on the season.
