SPECIAL OLYMPICS TRACK

There were 24 Storm athletes taking part at Garden City and all came away with ribbons, and/or gold, silver or bronze medals. In all, there were five teams at the meet representing Garden City, Great Bend, Hays, Colby and Ulysses. The local team has three more weeks of practices before heading to the state track tournament June 3-5 at Wichita State University.

Family combinations featured during races at S.R.C.A. Drag Strip over weekend

It was a family affair for the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Thunder on the Plains at the S.R.C.A. Drag Strip this past weekend as Glen Amerine nearly shared the winner's circle with his son Craig, who was the runner up in Top Sportsman, and brothers battled in the final round for the Stock Eliminator championship.
