Track, national marks fall in NHRA Lucas Oil event

Competition ended Sunday for the ninth running of the NHRA Lucas Oil Division V event in Great Bend on a cold and windy May afternoon where not only track records were set, but also national records were recorded at the S.R.C.A dragstrip during the event.

SPECIAL OLYMPICS TRACK

There were 24 Storm athletes taking part at Garden City and all came away with ribbons, and/or gold, silver or bronze medals. In all, there were five teams at the meet representing Garden City, Great Bend, Hays, Colby and Ulysses. The local team has three more weeks of practices before heading to the state track tournament June 3-5 at Wichita State University.

Hoisington Middle School seventh-grade girls take first

ELLSWORTH - The Hoisington Middle School track team competed in Ellsworth on Tuesday. The seventh-grade girls took first place by a 32-point margin with 125.
